The Arabic language is spoken by more than 400 million people in the world in over 20 countries. It is the language of the Koran, the holy book of Islam. The Arabic spoken in news media, at official gatherings and used in books and articles is called Modern Standard Arabic(MSA.) Dialects vary from country to country and region to region. Iraqi dialect will be different from the Jordanian dialect which will be different from the Saudi Dialect. While there tend to be many differences between some dialects they are bound together to some degree by classic Arabic. Arabic is written from right to left and uses its own alphabet.
